Daniella is a Research Assistant in the Macauley Group at the Earlham Institute. Prior to this she worked in the Technical Genomics Group.
Her current role involves preparing samples for single-cell sequencing using 10X Genomics, Smart-seq2 and spatial transcriptomics on the Vizgen Merscope platform.
Daniella graduated from the University of Kent with a First Class Honours in Bsc Biology and started her first role as a Lab assistant and then a Laboratory Technician at the UK Biocentre Covid Lab. During this time, Daniella gained experience using automated liquid handlers such as the Tecan and Kingfishers for RNA extraction.
Prior to joining the Earlham Institute Daniella worked at the John Innes Centre on the Molecular Genetics Platform with Saleha Bakht. This involved providing a range of services including TILLING, QC of nucleic acids, BDFACSMelody training, and high throughput screening of gene-edited lines using Sanger Sequencing.
In her my previous position in the Technical Genomics Group, Daniella's primary responsibility was running the automated LITE 2.0 workflow, which constructed libraries for Illumina Sequencing on the NovaSeq X or NextSeq 1000.
